Youth Shelter Advocate

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The HOPE Youth Shelter opening in January 2021 is now hiring for all shifts. Full-time, part-time and on-call positions are available. 

The Youth Advocate directly supports youth voluntarily staying at a HOPE youth shelter in Aberdeen, WA.  The shelter provides temporary residence, assessment, referrals, and permanency planning services for unsheltered youth under the age of 18. 

This position will play a critical role in assuring the shelter’s efficient operation, working to sustain a safe environment and healthy culture needed to support successful stays and exits for youth utilizing the shelter.

Shelter Advocate; F/T temporary

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  The Shelter Advocate supports persons staying overnight at a seasonal cold weather shelter located in Aberdeen, WA.  The shelter supports adults aged 18+, every day between 9 pm and 7am.   The shelter operates for five months, from the beginning of November through the end of March.  The Site Supervisor’s schedule will vary and may exceed 40 hours per week, depending upon program need.

This position plays a critical role in assuring the shelter’s efficient operation, working to create the safe environment and healthy culture needed to support successful stays and exits for persons utilizing the shelter.

The Care Coordinator interacts with diverse community supports, including behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, physical health, criminal justice, benefits management and employment.
