Senior Nutrition Program

CCAP Senior Nutrition Program helps increase the nutrient intake of older individuals who might not eat adequately, and through better nutrition, assist them to remain healthy and independent in their communities

The Senior Nutrition Program consists of both Congregate and Home-delivered Nutrition Services to help increase the nutrient intake of older individuals who might not eat adequately, and through better nutrition, assist them to remain healthy and independent in their communities.

Meals on Wheels

Congregate meal programs feed many older adults as a group in local senior centers. A noon hour meal is provided, containing one-third of the recommended USDA dietary allowance. Additionally, some centers provide recreational and educational activities.

The Senior Nutrition Program consists of both Congregate and Home-Delivered Nutrition Services to help increase the nutrient intake of older individuals who might not eat adequately, and through better nutrition, assist them to remain healthy and independent in their communities. The client base is senior citizens over 60+, unless a person younger is accompanied by a senior. Hot meals are served from five senior centers five days a week (in Aberdeen, Hoquiam, Elma, Raymond and Ilwaco), and also to Home Deliver. One day a week, hot meals are taken to Oakville. Frozen meals are delivered to clients that are outside the city limits and in the North and South Beach areas as well.

The Senior Nutrition Program, including Meals on Wheels, is only possible through the help of volunteers and private donations. Volunteers are needed in both Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties to serve meals, deliver meals and plan fundraising activities.

If you would like to make a donation or volunteer your services to this valuable local program, please call the Senior Nutrition Program at 360-533-5100.
